Ed Stelzer

Ed Stelzer is an experienced strategic advisor, corporate counsel, and business development executive. Until recently, Ed was Senior Vice President & Associate General Counsel at the Zurich Insurance Group. Over thirteen years at the company, he was responsible for a wide array of complex legal and regulatory issues around the globe. Before Zurich, Ed was associated with the firms of Wachtell Lipton and Milbank where he represented boards of directors and senior executives of public and private companies. Ed also was head of business development at a high-growth wireless technology company in Silicon Alley. Ed mentors entrepreneurs and startups and regularly present at conferences on the intersection of legal and strategic risks with technological innovation including in areas of fintech/insurtech, blockchain, data privacy, and cybersecurity.

Ed graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University and received his J.D. with honors from the New York University School of Law where he served as Notes & Comments Editor for the NYU Law Review. Ed also was a law clerk to Justice Stewart Pollock on the New Jersey Supreme Court.

Ed is a husband and proud father of four. In his spare time, he serves as co-chair of the board of the Yeshiva University Museum in Manhattan and as an advisor to other not-for-profit entities.
